Michael Clark, Director of Instrumental Music
An Oregon native, Michael is in his second year as band and orchestra director for Voyager Middle School. Michael was born and raised in Klamath Falls, Oregon, and attended college at Southern Oregon University, in Ashland, Oregon. He holds a double B.A. in Music Conducting and Low Brass performance, and Michael finished his Masters in Teaching Summa cum Laude in August of 2000 (after many late nights and quadruple mochas!).
In addition to directing at Voyager, Michael also teaches private lessons in the Mariner Band Boosters Lessons Program, and performs in several ensembles in Seattle. Michael has earned several awards in performance, including taking first place in the 1995 Oregon State Solo & Ensemble Competition on trombone.
When he is not teaching, Michael likes to hike around the Puget Sound and go jogging with his spoiled rotten beagle, Travis.
